Orange Lake Resort - Legends Walk
I’ve always had a soft spot for a good par 3 course—golf’s version of the neighborhood bar. Folks shuffle in after work (sometimes during) looking for friendly faces, a relaxing vibe and a little something to take the edge off. The Legends Walk Course at Orange Lake Resort has that corner pub conviviality, with one major difference: Kids are welcome.
In fact, juniors up to age 15 play free when accompanied by a paying adult, and today I’m serving grown folks some happy hour prices for nine holes, with a pull cart, good any day or night through May 26:
One player—$12, up to 60% off retail pricing
Two players—$20 ($10 per person), up to 67% off
Four players—$39 ($9 per person), up to 70% off
Central Florida’s only course lighted for after-dark play, Legends Walk was designed by Arnold Palmer. Naturally, Arnie’s warm touch permeates the place. Beginners mix and mingle with single-digit handicappers, while couples and families can share all-too-rare quality time. The course is typically uncrowded and makes for a great spur-of-the-moment outing.
Those who take the game seriously might be surprised by the layout’s challenges. Legends Walk reaches 1,581 yards from the back tees, an average of 176 per hole. It also has 21 bunkers—some of which are bigger than the greens they guard. Five tee sets, the shortest at 953 yards, offer a fair shake for all comers.
Legends Walk is golf at its most inviting, a congenial retreat for singles, friends and families. Belly up to this deal, and grab an open spot on the first tee for your whole crew. Cheers!
