Hooper Eblen was a jack of all trades, and then some. He became Tennessee Tech’s head basketball coach in 1941, switched to head football coach in 1947 and ascended to athletic director in 1964. Along the way he also served in World War II and helped build the Ohio Valley Conference. How Eblen found the time to design a golf course is beyond me, but dang if he didn’t squeeze that in, too. Cookeville GC is just part of the man’s staggering legacy, and the Deal Caddy has put together this three-part offer in his honor:
