The Falls Resort and Golf Club
All these years, and Mrs. Deal Caddy still doesn't get it. She doesn't understand how I can complain about a five-and-a-half-hour round of golf, but rejoice when I get to spend all day on the course. Bless her heart. She may not understand the difference between slow play and play-'til-you-drop, but she will throw you in a headlock if you stand between her and a spectacular value. So we have that in common. You're safe from headlocks this week as we have plenty of goodness to go around at The Falls Resort and Golf Club where your $99 buys a day of unlimited golf, cart, range balls and a free pair of Oakley FIVES SQUAREDTM Sunglasses. You save at least 51% off sticker price.
The Falls Resort and Golf Club reposes amid unspoiled woods, ponds and tumbling creeks, about an hour's drive and worlds away from the hubbub of Houston. Designed by Dave Marr and Jay Riviere and managed since 2011 by Troon Golf, the course has returned to the conditioning and service standards that made it the toast of Houston-area golf more than a decade ago. Not overly long at 6,765 yards from the tips, The Falls scoffs at notions that technology might someday make it obsolete. Snug fairways put a premium on accuracy from the tee, and the designers' green complexes have little tolerance for poorly executed approaches. Should the superintendent grow surly, green speeds can be made absolutely fiendish. Thankfully, they usually Stimp in the "tame" range, and they’re always smooth and true. Just don't short-side yourself.
Though rural, The Falls is anything but countrified. This is a resort with all the attendant amenities, a perfect setting for turning a golf trip into an overnighter with a friend or significant other. For the record, it was not Mrs. Deal Caddy's headlock that made me say that.
