Ashton Hills
When's the last time you saw a 17 yard green surrounded by eight—count ’em, eight—bunkers? Ashton Hills GC’s third hole has enough sand to line a shore—and gorgeous, rolling, dune-like hills to boot—but this course is anything but a day at the beach. That’s not to say you won’t enjoy yourself … all I’m saying is come prepared. Just as you wouldn’t go to the beach without your sunscreen and floaties, don’t show up at Ashton Hills without your “A” game and a well-stocked bag of balls. And because your friends might not believe you about No. 3, bring a few of them along. Your Deal Caddy makes it easy-breezy with these options:
One golfer—$29, almost 28% off retail pricing
Two golfers—$50 ($25 per person), almost 38% off retail pricing
Four golfers—$88 ($22 per person), up to 45% off retail pricing
Each option includes cart and is valid any time Monday through Friday, and after 1 p.m. weekends, until July 31.
About now you’re asking yourself if No. 3 is the only tough hole at Ashton Hills. Nothing worse than a one-hole wonder, right? Well, let me put your mind at ease. World famous course architect Desmond Muirhead went all out on this one. There’s virtually no flat land here, lots of undulating fairways and greens (not to mention creek beds, elevated greens and water), and—let me drive it home—plenty of sand. At 6,906 yards from the back tees, this par 72 is rated 72.7 and has a Slope Rating® of 139. Clearly, you’re in for a challenging round, so make sure you choose wisely from the four available sets of tees.
Just 35 minutes east of Atlanta, Ashton Hills is generally considered one of the finest courses in Georgia. Upon opening in 1997, it was immediately voted “Atlanta’s Best New Course” by the Georgia Golf News. Since then, Aston Hills has been revamped and renamed (previously known as Indian Creek Golf Club), making the course even better. A large practice range, a putting green and great food at the Village Grille round out the experience. Grab some friends and grab this deal … and while you’re at it maybe grab a shovel and pail for No. 3. It may not be a day at the beach, but with superb amenities, gorgeous landscapes and an engaging game, a day at Ashton Hills Golf Club feels like a vacation all the same.
